Scallops and Polka Dots

Here is yet another post that slipped me by ( I wish I were this tan again!) I am in LOVE with my j.crew jellys that my sister surprised me with last spring. They are meant for rainy days but I love to wear them as often as possible, the color is perfect and the bows with the gold detail

are genius. The pants are also J.Crew and the scallop shirt was a present from my Mom :)

Hope spring weather arrives soon so I can break out my flats again!

Marchesa

On a recent trip into New York I had some time to fill and stopped in JCP to try on the newest collection out of Marchesa - Pearl by Georgina Chapman of the fashion pair (her partner is Keren Craig). After being fortunate enough to intern for this amazing company I was ecstatic to try on their latest designs at a price I could reasonably afford. I absolutely fell in L - O - V - E with this gorgeous confection and wish I had an event to attend that required such attire. I have been debating returning and saving it...you never know :) I highly suggest you visit the Pearl Collection, especially for proms and formals!

Street Style - Grand Central Station NYC Edition

I am sad to see how long it has been since my last post :( to say this summer has been busy and chaotic

would be an understatement however I realized I how much I missed the blog. 

The part I missed most was photographing new styles and inspirations I found so when I was making

yet another trip to New York I decided to bring along my camera since I expected to have an hour or so of down time. 

I had a meeting with a company next to Grand Central Station and despite the large amount of time 

I spend commuting to and from New York I have actually never been to Grand Central Station.

I have seen tons of movies in which it was featured and loved how glamourous and old fashioned it looked so it was with great excitement that I stopped in to check it out.

Next I took a walk to Central Park since it was such a beautiful day, on my way I spotted a lot of great fashion

but as you can see the girl photographed above had a great office appropriate yet cute/seasonal

look. I think one of the hardest things to decide during the summer is what can I wear that

will be warm enough for my freezing office and cool enough for the hot heat of the streets/subway.

I think her jacquard light yellow skirt and white buttondown are the perfect combo and her necklace

is a great pop of color!

Makes me Smile

This is a small compilation of things that have me smiling lately =). The billboards I posted are from Values.com, I first noticed them on my drive from my apartment to visit my parents at home, the Babe Ruth billboard was what first caught my eye. Then after seeing a few more along the ride I knew i had to go home and check them out.  I suggest you click on the site and page through the billboards, each are so inspiring and a reminder that anything is possible (and who can't use alittle of that?)

planting lilacs and buttercups

You may recognize my rooms from our shoot together here and if you haven't seen that shoot then you MUST check out her blog Cupcaque, filled with new music she discovers, yummy recipes and great party decor/inspiration! 

We had a fun-filled day that started with breakfast on main street OUTSIDE =) since the weather was so nice, then a little photo-shoot, some serious shopping, manicure party and then some fun out and about at night. I had such a great time and I always love love loveee when I get to shoot rooms, she is flawless and has an impeccable 'Katie' style! Besides her gorgeous dress (that I want to steal) her bag is so unique, the clutch is made from vintage fabric so each purse is completely one - of - a kind (website listed below!) and the woman who started the company is always adding new purses to her site (dangerous to my bank account).

Meet Fluffy!

I would like to introduce my new love, Fluffy! He wandered into my life (and heart) as I was babysitting,

the family I babysit couldn't keep him because the mom is super allergic and

sadly all the shelters in our area are filled to capacity. With no one to claim Fluffy

I adopted him in hopes of finding him a home, as of right now me and my roooms are trying to make it 

work since she is allergic :/ wish us luck because I am in love with this

little man!

Now with my cat lady obsession out in the open, I will move on to my next love...

my vintage pants. I found them at a thrift store and was originally attracted to them because I 

thought it was a navy skirt with piping down the sides only to try them on to discover they 

were pants! Made me love them even more, I want to style this pants

a bit differently next time so stay posted!
