I know I mentioned my amazing roommate Katie in my post 'Comfy Cozy' when I described our little Christmas get-together and how she turned our apartment into a winter wonderland but this is the first time I get to formally introduce her as my subject! Roooms is thankfully always up for my impromtu photoshoots, this one in particular was for a project and I became obsessed with the pictures! I love Katie's purple coat, such a statement piece and can easily be dressed up or down. Her gloves are also a favorite of mine, so classy and the fact they are fingerless with jewels make them so unique. I love living 10 mins outside a major city, it enables you to have urban living (apartments/walkable shopping) but with suburban touches with trees and open spaces, the perfect combination. 

I caught Christine off-guard when we were leaving to run errands with an impromptu photo-shoot but I loved her draped sweater. It was the perfect outfit to throw on and still look chic, not pictured are her grey sweater uggs that complimented her look in the best way!

'to the sea'

This year for New Years I went to my favorite place in the world, Ocean City, Nj. Some might think the jersey shore is not special enough to deserve that title but this island has become my second home since I have spent every summer there living with my Grandma and siblings. I can not explain the meaning it holds for me without sounding a bit cheesy so just know it meant so much to me to be the one to show it to my newest friend Monica.

Monica is from Wisconsin and we met the day we both interviewed for the same internship, it was a chaotic day that resulted in fire alarms, us bonding while walking down 14 flights of stairs in high heels and having a joint interview outside on a bench next to the Hudson River.

Luckily we both landed the internship and became even closer, she is not only gorgeous and incredibly fashionable but one of the most sincere, friendly, kind and endearing people I have ever met. We are one 

another's shadows around the office and I love being joined to such a fabulous friend =)

You will be seeing much more of this die-hard Packers fan soon since she has been an incredible 

motivator and contributor to the blog!

It's a twin thing

This is my lovely older sister Christine, we look enough alike that we have often been asked if we were twins growing up (I LOVED this, eh christine not so much =) ) This past Christmas Christine and I bought each other fur vests, it was so funny opening up gifts and realizing we both had given the same gift. I will be shooting the vest Christine gave me soon but in the meantime check out the cool chic way Christine has styled hers!

Comfy Cozy

 

Recently my roomie Katie and I had a little Christmas get together in our apartment. While I was in New York all day Katie prepped and made this adorable spread for all our treats, she will have more pictures on her blog http://www.cupcaque.com/ that I will be sure to share later! The get together was a success, super cozy complete with hot chocolate, decorate - your - own cupcakes, homemade stromboli, cookies and chocolate. We were inspired by the head designer at my internship to paint our nails with OPI's 'Crown me Already!' sparkle nailpolish at the tips of our nails trickling down to the nailbed with Essie's 'sand tropez' as a basecoat. 

The whole event definitely helped put me in the Christmas mood!
